Are Atlantis and Ireland the same...?

There are many theories about where Atlantis, the absorbed continent, was situated, but now there is a new one, by a Swedish geographer. He is of the opinion that He has the opinion, that Atlantis was in fact the present Ireland.

Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher has detailed descriptions about this continent from the year 360 B. C. He describes, that the island Atlantis has a large plain in its middle, surrounded by mountains and it is just 480 km-s long and 320 km-s large, just like Ireland. The author of the book is Ulf Erlingson, the title is "Atlantis from a Geographer's Perspective: Mapping the Fairy Land".

(The National Museum of Ireland rejected the theory saying that there isn't any archeological evidence which could support it.)

Luca napgya. La tago de Lucia

Ma van Luca napja, amikor a legrövidebb a nappal és leghosszabb az éjszaka. Ennek számos néprajzi vonatkozása van, amikről most nem írnék (ezt már mások sokszor sokkal jobban megtették, mint ahogy én tudnám). Viszont a buszon hallottam félfüllel egy nőtől, hogy mától fogva 12 napig kell figyelni az időjárást, mert amilyen idő van ma, olyan lesz a január, amilyen holnap, olyan lesz a február, stb. Nem tudom, hogy igaza van-e, de ha mindennap készítek az aznapi időjárásról feljegyzéseket (nem itt, megnyugtatatásul közlöm... :-) ), akkor kiderül. Ma pl. ködös, borult, hideg idő volt errefelé, viszont nem ment fagypont alá (+ 2 °C körül volt reggel). Nem volt különösebben szeles, de a kis szél, ha fújdogált is, természetesen hideg lehetett. "Egyebet nem tudok elmondani, kérem, kapcsolja ki!"

Ekzemple hodiaŭ estis nube, kovrite kaj malvarme (sed la temperaturo ne akiris 0 °C-on; ĝi estis ĉirkaŭ + 2 °C matene). Ne estis precipe ventece; la venteto, kiu eble aperis, povis esti kompreneble malvarma. Mi pensas, tio ĉi estas ĉio, kiun mi povas raporti pri la hodiaŭa vetero...

South Korea will change its capital

The government of Korea has decided to build a new state capital in the middle of the country. The project begins in 2007. It is hoped that in this way Seoul, a huge metropolis with more than 10 million inhabitants, will become less overcrowded. The new capital will be built 160 km away from Seoul, in the province of Chungcheong, which is easily accessible from any part of the country. It is hoped that the first ministries will move to the new city in 2012.

Wooden spoon

Recently I bought my first wooden spoon in the Christmas fair here in my town. If I had my own flat I would furnish it with wooden furniture in traditional style. Maybe I would fix plates on the wall as is usual in rooms decorated in traditional folk style and also hang up patterned tapestries taken from Hungarian folklore. Although my present room has only wooden furniture, it is modern and its colors are too bright for me. (I was not the one who paid for this new furniture so I couldn't decide on its colors. To tell the truth, brightly colored furniture was the cheaper, than dark during the recent renovation of our flat.) My first wooden spoon is a step on the way to changing my lifestyle away from the modern direction as much as possible to the traditional one. It includes also "Avoid using plastic objects as far as possible." I planned to use this wooden spoon for eating with but it seems to be too rough on my mouth; it causes an unpleasant feeling at the edges of my mouth. So I had to finish my experiments with it while eating so that my mouth wouldn't be injured over time. Maybe the kind of wooden spoon I bought wasn't made for eating with...
